Welcome to June's meditation room. In this room, you have the opportunity to explore your inner thoughts, emotions and to reconnect with your true self. Your meditations will have great meaning to you whether you realize it immediately or at some time afterward. You may read through the guided imagery meditation or, if your computer has voice, listen to the introduction by Jerry Briesach and meditation by June Ahern (may take up to two minutes to download).
Prepare yourself now. There are three steps to
meditation:
Choose a quiet place where you will not be interrupted. You may wish to light a candle or dim the lights. Have paper and pen to note your thoughts and feelings that you may experience during your meditation. Step#2. - Quieting the body and mind
Step #3. Envisioning the imagery Recall a time in your life when you felt very good about who you were and what you were doing. A time when you being true to yourself. A time when you felt alive! You knew that you were absolutely in the right place at the right time. You felt your full power! This may be one particular experience; even one day or, it may have lasted several months or even a few years. It was a time when life was very inspiring to you. If you are unclear of that time, mentally think of looking at your photo album to find a picture of a particularly good time in your life. When you see a photo, stop there. Now, think about that time in your life. Recall the event or situation occurring as vividly as you can by thinking of yourself there at this very moment. What is happening that causes you to feel fulfilled and good about yourself and life? Where are you? Look at your surroundings, hear any sounds, smell any scents.take it all in. Who surrounds you? What is going on? Are you having any impact on others? In what way? Go further now, include the emotions you are experiencing. What did you feel? Feel those same emotions now. Mentally, emotionally and physically be in that time as though it was happening right now, in the present. To the best of your ability with all your senses, be there once again. Enjoy for several minutes before opening your eyes. You are opening up to energies within and without. From this experience you can gain useful and wise information. Afterwards, write of your experiences. The purpose of this meditation is to clarify your values. Perhaps these questions will help you in writing about your experience. At that time of your life what values were you honoring? Perhaps it was a time where after much hard work you achieved a degree or a new professional position. What was the value in that for you? Was it your perseverance? Do you value perseverance? Staying loyal to your dream? Do you value loyalty? Do you value education? Using your intelligence to the fullest? Challenge of winning? There are many values that people honor and live by. What is the most important thing here, is that you choose values that have a personal meaning to you and not values based on other's thoughts. As your coach, I will develop with you a list of your personal values and how to live a life that reflects those values. This is only one of three guided imagery meditations offered on June's CD. There next two as just as powerful in assisting you in creating a more fulfilling and joyful life.
